MARK ATTEBERRY

Mark has been the preaching minister at Poinciana Christian Church in Kissimmee, Florida since 1989. A graduate of St. Louis Christian College, he has been married to his high school sweetheart, Marilyn, for 36 years. They have one daughter, Michelle, and two granddaughters, Alyssa and Alexis.Mark is the author of 8 books:The Samson Syndrome (Nelson, 2003)The Climb of Your Life (Faith Communications, 2004)The Caleb Quest (Nelson, 2004)Walking with God on the Road You Never Wanted to Travel (Nelson, 2005)The 10 Dumbest Things Christians Do (Nelson, 2006)Free Refill (Standard, January 2007)So Much More Than Sexy (Standard, 2009)Let It Go (2010)Mark has just completed work on his first novel, a romantic thriller, which should be available soon. Mark's books have been endorsed by Karen Kingsbury, Donald Miller, Randy Alcorn, John Maxwell, Barbara Johnson, Angela Thomas, Janet Paschal, Pat Williams, Jerry Colangelo, Steve Green, Leeman Bennett, Dr. Ben Lerner, and Bob Russell. Mark has also appeared on over 100 television and radio programs and spoken at countless churches, colleges, retreats, and conferences. He and his work have also been featured in major magazines, such as Outreach, New Man, and the Christian Standard. His book, Walking with God on the Road You Never Wanted to Travel, was a finalist for the Retailer's Choice Award in 2006 and is being recommended by DivorceCare, an organization that ministers to people going through the trauma of divorce. Another of Mark's books, The Samson Syndrome, has been used by many NFL teams as a Bible study tool, including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Indianapolis Colts, Chicago Bears, New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers, Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, and Miami Dolphins. Because of The Samson Syndrome's strong connection with male athletes, Mark has been asked to speak to the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and to serve as an advisor for Athletes in Action, a ministry outreach of Campus Crusade for Christ that targets both collegiate and pro athletes. On the personal side, Mark is a sports enthusiast and a jazz saxophonist. He plays every Sunday morning and is often a featured jazz soloist with the dynamic Poinciana Christian Church worship band. ZIDEN NUTT

Ziden L. Nutt was born in Hammond, Indiana on October 29, 1936. He attended the Black Oak Church of Christ, where he was ordained as a minister of the Gospel of Christ on January 1, 1956. Ziden studied at Lincoln Christian College and then Ozark Christian College where he met and married Helen M. Forkner on May 30, 1958. They went to Zimbabwe in 1961 with their first-born Karolyn, where they served for 14 years during which time Thomas and Lynda were born.While in Zimbabwe they pioneered the work at Chidamoyo Mission, where four Christian day schools and a major hospital were built. In 1968 they moved to Chinhoyi to establish Good News Productions, which focused on designing media strategies to assist missionaries in Zimbabwe and neighboring countries. During their 14 years in Zimbabwe, with the cooperative efforts of nationals and missionaries who joined them, 105 churches were established with 10,200 people being baptized into Christ in thosetwo areas.Lynda suffered severe brain damage at birth that led the family to return to the USA in 1975, where Lynda later passed away on January 21, 2005. Requests from around the world and encouragement from supporters led to the expansion of Good News Productions to an international ministry in December of 1975 with the first of eleven research and production centers being established in Joplin, Missouri. Strategy design, program development and delivery systems are either created or utilized forevangelism and leadership training in over one hundred countries.As founder and executive director of Good News Productions, International for thirty years, Ziden was appointed as Executive Director Emeritus on January 1, 2006. He continues his involvement with many global ministries as a resource person. Ziden recently authored the book, Beyond Ourselves.

Join us at the teen convention for great music, fun games, new friends and relevant teaching from the Word. Should you go? YES, if this is true:Im a teen. Everything at this deal is custom-tailored for YOUR age. Im a girl. Or Im a guy. We've got a couple special things sectioned off just for you, too. Cause you know guys and girls are different, right?Im not sure where I stand with God. Youll find some very real people here, not to mention a very real God who can handle your very real feelings, and doubts, and fears, and uncertainties. Its a great place to bring your skepticism and curiosity.I'm new in my faith. Perfect. We cant wait for you to come. This event will give you a great chance to begin to grow and take some significant steps in a dynamic, exciting environment. I have a really strong faith. This weekend will be a great confirmation for you. It will challenge you to take new steps and encourage you. Reach out to others and invite them to come with you! I like to have fun. You have no idea. Besides great music and relevant messages, there are so many things to do at Tan-Tar-A and in the Osage Beach area. I like loud music. You REALLY have no idea. I want to meet new and exciting people from all over. Teens from all corners of Missouri will be there! I want to learn about opportunities for ministry, service, Christian schools and other cool stuff like that. Perfect. There will be exhibits lined up from Christian colleges and other cool ministries. I want to spend some real, honest prayer and quiet time. This will be a time to "get away from it all" and re-charge with God.

Riley Armstrong No Frame

Riley Armstrong

We are pleased to introduce Riley Armstrong as our worship leader and emcee!Riley's BioRiley Armstrong moved to Vancouver at the age of 18 to pursue a career in music. He earned a degree in sound recording and soon became the sound engineer for the Christian rock band Hokus Pick. Riley was the engineer on the 1997 Hokus Pick album Snappy. A year later he released his own independent effort Novel Reason under the pseudonym Plain Edson.Riley persuaded the members of Hokus Pick to let him be their opening act, as well as being their sound engineer. While in Nashville on a Hokus Pick tour he befriended the members of the Christian rock band Audio Adrenaline. Soon thereafter three members of Audio Adrenaline founded a new record company. Riley was invited to be the first performer to release on their Flicker Records label.He then moved from Vancouver to Nashville, where he spent the next five years. Riley Armstrong became the opening act for Audio Adrenaline. During this period he released a follow up album, Whatever the Weather. Armstrong then asked to be released from Flicker Records and returned to Canada. Marriage followed, with the couple settling in Calgary. Riley and his wife Shannon have one son, Zeffren, who was born in 2005. Also that year Riley released the album La Loop on the 7 Spin Music indie label. During 2010 Riley Armstrong toured in the U.S. during which time he also opened for Starfield during their "The Saving One" tour.

Programming is provided for children age 4-Kindergarten and 1st-6th grade. Experienced teachers in both age groups will lead the children in large group lessons, small group activities, worship, and service projects.Children can expect to have a lot of fun as they learn about Jesus and how to live their lives in a way that pleases Him.Your child's safety is our top priority at the Missouri Christian Convention. Background checks have been completed on every volunteer. A secure check-in and check-out process ensures your child will only be released to you. A proper student to teacher ratio is in place for each age group. Popular thought tells us to love God by loving others, but Scripture describes loving others as a result of loving God, not a substitute for it. We have a Maker to love before we can faithfully practice loving a neighbor. Discover what might be missing and how to get absolutely radical in your love for God. - Meeting Rooms 72 & 73 Intersection Bible Study: 1 John (Gareth Reese, Central Christian College of the Bible, Moberly) - Intersecting love for God includes obedience of His commands, and Intersecting love for our fellow Christians is an area the church has need of visiting often. The church is troubled by weak love. This Bible Study will teach the Apostle's intent about genuine love. Our hope is that everyone who walks away for this study will understand the love God has intended for us to offer, receive and live by. - Redbud RoomLadies and Their Outreach (Becky Rippy, Solid Rock Christian Church, St. James) - Our outreach must include three things: 1) Winning to Jesus, 2) Growing in Jesus, and 3) doing all things in love. The MCC is a para-church organization, which means that while it exists to serve the churches, it is not directly responsible to any single church. It is led by volunteers (planning committee and a yearly president) who are primarily comprised of ministers and church members. By-laws govern the convention and specify things such as who is eligible to serve on the planning committee, term lengths, and other necessary guidelines. Committee members are screened and approved by each yearly planning committee. Members of the planning committee cannot receive any type of salary or reimbursement for their service.How is the MCC funded?Since the MCC is a legally recognized non-profit organization, it does not seek to make a profit. While the goal is not to make a profit, it obviously cannot operate at a deficit, which makes it necessary to create revenue sources to provide adequate funds for yearly operation.Funding for the MCC comes from four primary sources:1. individual and church contributions throughout the year (including offerings collected during the convention),2. attendee registration fees,3. church rapid registration fees,4. exhibitor feesNo single revenue sources is sufficient to meet the budget for any year a combination of all four sources is necessary to keep the registration fees as low as possible. If individual or church registration fees were the only sources of revenue, the registration fees would necessarily and likely double. The offerings received during each main session during the convention are necessary to meet budget.Expenses for the MCC fall into three categories:1. publicity and promotion (printing, postage, website, etc.)2. facility and equipment rental (lighting, sound systems, video projection, stage, etc.)3. program expenses (speaker honorariums, travel expenses, etc.)While the exact percentages vary from year to year, the greatest expense is usually the facility rental.The goal of each yearly convention is to pay all commitments, leave no outstanding debts, and have sufficient funds to begin the next years convention. This is only possible through prayer and generous contributions.Questions regarding the purpose and funding of the MCC are welcomed and may be directed to any Planning Committee member.

NEW THIS YEAR! Several fun events have been planned to enrich and enhance your time at the Missouri Christian Convention.

Senior's Luncheon

Seniors' Luncheon

We'll have our first ever Seniors' Luncheon on Saturday, March 31 from 12:00-1:15 pm. Those attending will be treated to a great meal created by the chefs at Tan-Tar-A followed by an encouraging message from Ben Merold. Ben will speak on the topic, "Seniors At the Intersection". Kent Sanders from St. Louis Christian College will host the event. The luncheon will be held in the Parasol II room at Tan-Tar-A. There is easy access to the room via the elevators and escalators.Cost for the luncheon is $15.00 per person before March 1, 2012 and $20.00 per person after March 1. There are several ways to order tickets:When you fill out a paper registration form (PDF), indicate in the appropriate area how many tickets you need. This form is then mailed to us.Register and pay for the event online.Purchase tickets at the Registration booth during the Convention if seats are still available. Tickets will not be mailed out, but you will pick them up at the Registration booth. A limited number of seats are available, so order your tickets early!Though geared towards seniors, everyone is invited to this event.

Mark Atteberry, Ziden Nutt, Shawn McMullen and many of our workshop leaders have published books that will strengthen your efforts to live at The Intersection. You will have the opportunity to purchase books and have them signed by the authors. A book signing table will be set up at the information area in the main lobby. The book signing schedule will be posted at a later date.

Another new feature this year will follow our Friday night worship on March 30, 9:30-11:30 pm.

Hoss Ridgeway and Riley Armstrong will bring comedy and music to the Missouri Christian Convention stage. Chris Wise from Ridgeview Christian Church in Rolla will host the event.

The event is FREE and all age groups are invited to join in the fun!
